You increased the number of people on medicare/medicaid and then 'fined' the rest of the people for not having insurance. You sold that by giving subsidies to some of the people who made too much to be on medicare/medicaid.
Nobody who was in opposition to the ACA said that it wouldn't increase the number of people who were 'uninsured'. Claiming that less people are uninsured as some sort of 'win' over those who opposed it is either completely dishonest or proof that you never bothered to listen to what the people who opposed it actually said.
