The Black Man With A Gun

The Black Man With A Gun

OMG! So much fail in just a couple lines.

To start with a little sweet ironic background, Marxy recently went stupid over on Quora getting all uppity because someone claimed that the anti gun rights people tend to be ignorant about guns. Marxy claimed it wasn't so.

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-root-cause-of-mass-gun-violence-in-the-US-and-how-should-it-be-solved/answer/Jon-Davis-10/comment/21369577

So after that, Mr. Accurate posts today's screed. Let's look at the very first sentence.

"The shooting of Alton Rouge, an open carry permit holder in Louisiana, was bad enough."

OK, not real sure who Mr. Rouge is, but I'll assume he meant Alton Sterling. He claims Alton Sterling had an open carry permit.

O'reaaallllly? Earth to Marxy, Louisiana DOES NOT have open carry permits. Open carry is simply legal there. Strike one for firearms law knowledge.

Next up, implicit in this post and other that Marxy has made is that Mr. Sterling was legally doing his thing with a gun and for no reason whatsoever the police shot him - probably because he was black.

Here is Alton Sterlings criminal background:

Records show that Sterling was registered sex offender with a lengthy criminal record that included convictions for weapons offenses, confrontations with police officers, property crimes, and domestic violence and other batteries.

Alton Sterling was not, in any manner whatsoever, legally carrying a gun. He was a prohibited person and having that gun in his possession was itself a criminal act. Strike two.

Finally Marxy is mad that the police shot a man in Minnesota. He again blames this on racism. Maybe, maybe not. Either way he is ignoring the elephant in his position. THE POLICE shot a man. One with all the background checks and training that Marxy insists is neccessary in order to carry a gun. That didn't stop this. A police officer is an agent of the government. You know, that thing that Marxy thinks should have more power at the expense of the people. I'd say that's strike three, just because of the cognitive dissonance.
