The good guys lose their cool or get into a fight or get drunk or become overwhelmed by depression, and someone dies, or the good guy himself does. The reality of gun violence isn't usually good guys versus bad guys. It's a chaotic world in which people fight and disagree and forget and stumble and err, a world populated by fallible human beings and made infinitely bloodier by easy access to deadly weapons.
All those things happen less to good guys than this quote would lead one to believe.
And if even that little bit of occurrence IS too much to handle then one has to address this simple fact - that means it happens to cops as well - and if that means we HAVE to disarm good guys because of the above reasons then we also HAVE to disarm our police.
And I really don't think either Markadoofus or his 'good words' author are really advocating that.
Nope.
